Kibo Sports Club - Kilimanjaro Region, Tanzania

We love endurance sports. We love the envirionment. And we love Kilomeni. Kilomeni is located in Mwanga District of Kilimanjaro Region in the North Pare Mountains. It is a beautiful, secluded area with varied terrain and elevation to make this a perfect training area for endurance sports (marathon, ultra-marathon, bicycle racing, triathlon, Kilimanjaro trekking). Kibo Sports Club was the first to establish a health run in Tanzania - in 2014. Kibo Sports Club pioneered tree planting in the Majengo neighborhood of Moshi, Tanzania in 2010 and are still very active in this effort to reforest the Kilimanjaro Region. Deforestation is one of the main causes for the rapidly dimishing glaciers on Mt Kilimanjaro.

Join us to run or bicycle every Saturday and Sunday. It is free to participate but if you want to support the organization, you can buy a T-shirt, donate equipment (running shoes, bicycle gear, etc) or cash to dsupport our local runners and tree planting effort. Group run distances of 5k, 10k, 21k, and 42k are held.
